WHY WEAR AN ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE?

Orthodontic appliances can be used for many different needs. At Archambault and Morton Orthodontists, we take the time to meet with you and evaluate your situation in order to suggest an appliance or orthodontic treatment that you will be comfortable with so that you will end up with a smile that you can be proud of.

Our Mission is to Offer you a treatment plan that corresponds to your specific needs, nothing more, nothing less!

WHY WEAR AN ORTHODONTIC appliance?

Dental, or orthodontic, appliances allow us to provoke movement within the mouth of a patient or, on the contrary, maintain a stable situation in the mouth by preventing undesirable tooth movements during a defined period of time.

An appliance can also be the ideal solution when we want to correct a misalignment of the jaws, or even to guide the developing dentition of younger patients who are still growing.

For example, an appliance used to expand the palate is one solution for patients who have a narrow palate, which isn’t sufficiently wide compared to their lower jaw.

A DENTAL appliance TO SET YOUR TEETH ON THE RIGHT PATH

Prevention and education for our patients are priorities at Archambault & Morton Orthodontists.

Thanks to dentofacial orthopedics, certain appliances allow us to correct growth problems early on. These orthodontic appliances allow us to correct the development of the jaw and the dentition, setting them on the right path. This can make any future orthodontic treatment less complicated, sometimes avoiding surgery.

QUESTIONS?

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more.

Will you be able to identify the problem?

Yes. Dr. Archambault, Dr. Morton or Dr. Sallard, and members of their team, will take an hour with you and/or your child, during the initial consultation, to evaluate your needs and fully explain the situation.

Will you offer a solution at the first consultation?

Yes. After the first evaluation of your situation, your orthodontist will take the time to answer your questions and explain the various options that are available to you.

Will I be able to afford orthodontic treatment?

We devote an hour or more to you or your child to examine and explain the orthodontic problems and possible treatment options. Please call us for more information on our consultation fees. If the orthodontist indicates that, for the time being, the situation only requires a periodic monitoring of your child’s dental development, it is good to know that these follow up appointments do not entail any extra fees.

If an orthodontic treatment is needed, the price will vary depending on the needs of the patient and the length of the treatment.

How long should I expect the first consultation to last?

The initial consultation will last about an hour. Your orthodontist will take the time to answer your questions and give you all of the information necessary to make an informed decision.

Detached brace or band

Eating sticky or hard foods may cause a brace to detach from the tooth. Therefore we don’t recommend these foods. If a brace or band does detach from a tooth and it is still attached to the wire or device, use a bit of wax to hold it in place until you can come to the clinic and have it fixed. If it falls off completely, keep the pieces, if possible. Contact us to plan an appointment.

Protruding wires causing irritation

If a wire comes undone or is hurting your cheeks or your gums, you can use a bit of wax at the pointy end. Dry the wire first. Add a small ball of wax, about the size of a pea, by pinching it on with your fingers. You can also cut the piece of wire with a nail cutter if you are comfortable doing so on your own. Please call us for assistance.

FINANCIAL OPTIONS AND INSURANCE

With regards to financing and insurance, options are available depending on your orthodontic treatment.
